Classification and application of Aluminum Coil （3）

We have already shared four series aluminum coil in the past few days, normally the coil can be divided into six parts, the last two series is 5000 and 6000.

5. 5000 series

5000 series aluminum coil is a widely used aluminum alloy, magnesium is the main elements and the content is between 3-5%. It can be also called magnesium alloy. The main characteristics of 5000 series are low density, high tensile strength, elongation. As it is lighter than others in the same area , so the 5000 series aluminum coil commonly used in aviation, such as aircraft fuel tanks. It is also widely applied in conventional industrial.

6. 6000 series

This series coil can be used for against corrosion, oxidation and demanding applications. It has below good characteristics: good work ability, feature of connector is fine, easy coating, good insulation. It can be used for low pressure ammunition and connectors on aircraft.
